Eggshell, Bone + Vinegar = Hens Laying, Sows in Heat
Master Cho Han-kyu, interpreted by Kim Chang, Founder of Korean Natural Farming (Janong)
Spoken in Korean. Translated to English and checked line by line.
Video of this visit will be added to the members' archive. The transcript times below match that recording.
Drake interviews two Kohala farmers, then the camera catches the outdoor egg yolk oil demo. Back in the hall, Cho talks about egg yolk oil, then turns to Reproduction (WCA) from eggshells and Structure (WCP) from burned cow bone: why each dissolves in vinegar, and how he uses them for flower buds, hens that stop laying and sows that won't come into heat.
What they found
How do eggshells and bone become calcium a plant or animal can use fast, and what does Cho do with them and with egg yolk oil on the farm?
Friday afternoon, after the hands-on making outside: the tape opens on Drake's porch interview, then a short clip of the interpreter, Kim Chang, cooking egg yolk oil at a camp stove. From 5:01 Cho teaches at the front with two big jars on the table: eggshells in vinegar (Reproduction, WCA) and charred cow bone in vinegar (Structure, WCP). He holds up the eggshell jar at about 17:00 to show the shells rising, and the bone jar at about 25:30. A flip chart with Korean notes stands behind him but isn't readable, and there are no slides or handout here.
- Egg yolk oil (outdoor demo) — From the interpreter at the stove: start with one dozen eggs, go to two dozen once you're good at it; she does 36 eggs at a time at home. Cook until the eggs look done enough to eat, put them in a bowl, run an immersion blender over them, then put everything back in the pan 'to make it really fine' and keep cooking. About an hour; longer in wind. The tape never says whether only the yolks were used.
- Reproduction (WCA), eggshell in vinegar — Cho: eggshells in vinegar. Eggshell is alkaline, vinegar is acid; they react, and the calcium in the shell dissolves into water-soluble calcium. Shown in the jar. No ratio or timing given on this tape.
- Structure (WCP), cow bone in vinegar — Cho: cow bone holds protein, starch/carbohydrate and fat, which can't react with vinegar, so burn the bone first. What's left is calcium (phosphate), which is alkaline; in vinegar it dissolves. Shown in the jar. No ratio or timing given on this tape; his recipe book gives charred bone : BRV = 1:10, about 7 days.
- Hens that stopped laying after a molt — Cho: 'that's when you give this'; the interpreter says WCA and WCP together. No amount; Cho says he'll explain feed-making later.
- Sows that won't conceive or come into heat — Cho: mix WCA and WCP and shake them into the drinking water; add Medicine (OHN) with it so the effect comes fast. No dilution given on tape. His recipe book gives WCP at 1/500 in drinking water for pregnant or ovulating livestock.
-
Start egg yolk oil with one dozen eggs; a batch takes about an hour
Interpreter at the outdoor demo: one dozen to start, two dozen when you're good at it, 36 at a time at home. Cook until done enough to eat, blend with an immersion blender, back into the pan. Longer in wind.
-
Egg yolk oil on a livestock wound heals it quickly
Animals that fight and get hurt: put egg yolk oil on the wound.
▶ 5:16 As spoken
-
Give it to crops and lots of flower buds set
'I'm not a doctor... but from my experience growing crops.' Cho says 'this'; the interpreter says 'these two' (WCA and WCP). No rate or timing given.
▶ 14:22 As spoken
-
A hen 'has a period every day'; a molt is like one that comes all at once, and she stops laying
When all her feathers fall out she stops laying. That's when you give it: hens that had stopped start again, and the laying period gets longer. No amount; feed-making comes later.
▶ 14:55 As spoken
-
Eggshells rise and fall in vinegar because alkali meets acid
Cho holds up the WCA jar. Eggshell is alkaline, vinegar is acid; they react and the shell's calcium dissolves into water-soluble calcium.
-
Press egg yolk oil with a loving heart; after a fight with your spouse the oil won't come out
'These things aren't dead. They're all alive.' Not in words like ours, but living cells talk to each other.
▶ 24:18 As spoken
-
Burn the bone first: protein, carbohydrate and fat block the vinegar
Cow bone is living bone. Burning removes protein, carbohydrate and fat; what's left is calcium, which is alkaline. Vinegar (acid) then dissolves it into water-soluble calcium (phosphate).
-
Sows that won't conceive or come into heat: WCA + WCP shaken into their drinking water
Cho says they come into heat (발정). No dilution given.
▶ 27:56 As spoken
-
Add Medicine (OHN) with WCA and WCP and the effect comes very fast
They're nutrition that has to get into the blood, so circulation has to be good for them to be absorbed.
▶ 28:18 As spoken
- No dilution, ratio or amount is given anywhere in this session. The rates in the treatments come from Cho's recipe book, not the tape.
- The tape is three clips with long unrecorded gaps (about 28 minutes after the interview, then about 1 hour 40 minutes after the demo). Cho's part starts mid-sentence.
- For flower buds and hens, Cho says 'this'; only the interpreter says 'these two' (WCA and WCP together).
- The outdoor demo doesn't say whether only yolks were used; Cho's earlier teaching uses yolks only.
- Cho also lists human uses of egg yolk oil, WCA and WCP, including how fast people absorb water-soluble calcium, and doctors who came to ask how he made it; these were not tested and we don't repeat them as advice.
- Burn bones to charcoal before they go in vinegar, so protein, carbohydrate and fat don't block the reaction.
- Watch the eggshells rise and fall in the vinegar: that's the acid and the alkali reacting.
- Cho gives Reproduction (WCA) and Structure (WCP) to assist crops in setting flower buds.
- When hens molt and stop laying, Cho gives WCA and WCP to assist them back into lay.
- For sows that won't come into heat, Cho shakes WCA and WCP into the drinking water with Medicine (OHN) to assist circulation.
- Make your own egg yolk oil, starting with one dozen eggs; Cho uses it on livestock wounds.
- Make the solutions in a calm, loving frame of mind. Cho says they're alive.

Agrees
Burn the bone to remove protein and fat before the vinegar His recipe book says the same: burn boiled bones to charcoal at a low temperature to burn off organic and fatty matter, then 1:10 in BRV. It also gives WCP at 1/500 in drinking water for livestock that are pregnant or ovulating, which fits the sow advice here.
Cho, Natural Farming Agricultural Materials (Recipe), p. 65–66

Agrees
Eggshell (alkaline) and vinegar (acid) react, and the shells rise and fall The book gives the same reaction: calcium carbonate and acetic acid give off CO2 slowly, and the fluffy, floating shell is that gas.
Cho, Natural Farming Agricultural Materials (Recipe), p. 60

Agrees
WCA works faster with OHN, and sets flower buds Janong says WCA's power 'can even be strengthened by mixing OHN' and that it 'strengthens the flower bud'. Here Cho gives circulation as the reason, for livestock drinking water.

Unclear
Egg yolk oil is made from yolks only His DVD seminar fries yolks only, in a dry pan, until the oil separates. The outdoor demo here talks of cooking 'eggs' and blending them, and never says the yolks were separated.

English translation, checked against the Korean as spoken.
0:00 Yeah, why not, man? So, we're going to do a one minute interview with Jeremy and Morgan. We live here in Kohala. I'm a mango farmer. Found out about Korean Natural Farming a little over a year ago, something that very much inspires me. To improve the land that we live on and the farm that we're working at, mango trees. So with your advanced training, what was the most profound thing that happened to you today? Today I'd say just like the reaffirmation of how important it is to put live things into your soil
0:48 and have a living farm, you know, other than a conventional organic farm that is just kind of a way of the past, you know. And if you keep farming in the past, then nothing's going to change. So I think that's my favorite lesson so far. For me, I think just learning again about the different inputs that mean so much, the water-soluble calcium phosphate to trigger flowering. Yeah, just reaffirming that. Yeah. For me, one of the coolest things is knowing how connected this is. Whether it's for my plants, or for my... [unclear]
1:36 But also... Yeah, I'm really interested in that, you know? You gonna grind some...? What? Are you going to grind some inputs when you get home? Oh, heck yeah. Yeah. I'm going to, like, spray LAB all over my body and just soak in it, you know? So for the last eight years or so, I've been washing my laundry with it. And to this day, like, I don't really smell that. I don't sweat a lot, but I don't smell. Is that right? Okay. That's fine. I believe you. But, yeah, no, I don't smell, you know. I will too.
2:21 It's a little bit hot. No, it's not burning. It's bitter. It's like burned stuff. I never taste it if I put it on cuts. But if you have like a skin irritation or anything or cough, right now it's hot. What about funguses? Do you know how people get fungus on their skin? Do you put that medicine in them? Oh, I don't know. I have to ask Master Cho about that. It helps to get rid of infection. I know. I mean, just from personal experience. Oh, yeah. Oh. I need a hand. A cut. It's hot, yeah? Yeah. It's not scar, but fresh cuts, right?
3:10 Yeah. One time application or I should do a couple times? You should do... Once a day. Yeah, once a day at least. Telling you. Yeah, and then you wrap it with sunscreen. Okay. Then they each... I rub it in too. You rub it in. I rub it in. Rub it in your skin. Okay. Cool. I was just thinking, anybody with a cut here? Yeah, I have. It's like slime. Yeah, it's like slightly infected. Tomorrow. You can give us a report tomorrow morning. You talk about this as like stem cells. Yeah, that's how I... And that's good for us to know. It's interesting. It's very interesting for that. That's why it heals.
3:47 That's the cheapest way to get stem cells. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Isn't it? Even though it's lots of work. I mean, you have to get... This is almost an hour. This is like, take longer because of the wind. But you can also do larger batches than this because you guys did what like a dozen? Two dozen? Only one dozen. One dozen, yeah. I told you start with one dozen. When they're good at it, then two dozen. Yeah, when I make it I usually do like 36 eggs, like at a time. Like, the routine for me at home is 36 eggs. So 36 eggs is about... What, the jar? A jar. And the whole jar will be 36 eggs.
4:24 Three dozens of eggs. What are the problems? But not all at once? At once? Yeah, I watched it. Can you do it at once? Yeah, yeah. It depends on the pan, I guess. My pan is slightly bigger than that. I wish I could read the... [unclear] [unclear] So once you're cooking the eggs, and they look like they're cooked like you would eat them, at that point, you just put it into a bowl, and you put the immersion blender over it, and then put it all back from the bowl into the pan, just to make it really fine. ...[livestock fight] and sometimes get hurt. (clip starts mid-sentence)
5:05 So when you have a livestock sometimes among them they sometimes fight and they get hurt. But once they're wounded, if you put this on, it heals quickly. So when they have a scar or open wound, you put this egg yolk oil on, it will heal right away. People are animals too. So human is animal too. We say 'animal' — we're counted among the animals. We are one of the animals. So we have a red colored blood animal. Animals with red blood.
5:56 We only differ in kind. Everything on earth is made from the same sunlight, air, soil and water. So in other words, we look different, but then we are created by the nature with the sunshine and the air and all those things that we learn. So we are all the same. And, you know, what do people call it — the thing you get at the anus? Oh yes, hemorrhoids.
6:45 When you have hemorrhoids, don't go to the hospital for surgery. Put egg yolk oil on a cotton swab, push it into the anus, and the hemorrhoids just heal. So when you have hemorrhoids, usually they have to have surgery. Don't do surgery. Just put this oil on the glass, and then you put it on your hemorrhoid. And then it will heal you. And when you get a wound from a knock, or a burn from fire, if you put this on, it heals very well.
7:31 So when you hurt yourself, open wound, or burn yourself, fire, you put this, use this egg yolk oil, it will heal very fast. When you're bitten by a snake or stung by a bee, put it on the spot and the poison goes away. So, let's say you got bite from the snake or the sting by the bee, when you put it on the egg yolk oil, the poison is disappear. And you know when a tooth aches so badly you can't stand it? Soak cotton in the oil, put it on, bite down on it, and it just heals. So even when you have a toothache, it's a horrible toothache,
8:19 you put some egg yolk oil on a cotton and then you hold that with your tooth and it will heal. Inside. And when you're burned by fire or scalded by hot water, afterwards [once it's cooled?] put egg yolk oil on the spot, and there's no scar either. So sometimes you burn by hot water. If you could use the egg yolk oil, you wouldn't have a scar. This is very good for that, so people farming out in the mountains should make it and keep it as a household medicine. So this is very good medicine actually. So if you are away from the city, if you are farming in the deep countryside, always have
9:16 that egg yolk oil for emergency medicine. And you put this in small capsules, and for — you know jaundice? Jaundice. Nephritis, kidney disease. Anyone who gets it, man or woman, can't have a baby. So if you have kidney disease, if your kidney is sick, you put this oil in the capsule. But when you have those diseases, man or woman, you cannot have babies. And if you take it [in capsules] regularly, the kidney disease just heals. So you put this oil in the capsule, you consume it, your kidney disease will heal.
10:11 So for drawing out any poison, this works extremely well. So this egg yolk discards all the poison. But the egg yolk oil you buy at a pharmacy or such places doesn't have that effect. It's one of the best. The one that they sell in the store, that egg yolk oil, they don't have any potency. So you tried it today; you can easily press it out at home now. So you watch the demonstration and you can make it at home and make this egg yolk oil and keep it for yourself. Then each of you has set up your own pharmaceutical company.
10:57 So you actually built a pharmaceutical for egg yolk oil. Hallelujah! Hallelujah. And next — this is water-soluble calcium we made from eggshells. So we made a water-soluble calcium with an eggshell. And this is water-soluble calcium. So this is water-soluble calcium. So it's absorbed very quickly. So, it absorbs very quickly. But if you eat it in solid form, it takes more than a week after eating before it's absorbed.
11:52 But if you just eat calcium without making a water-soluble calcium, it will take about one week to absorb this calcium in your body. It takes about one week to absorb in your body. But because this is made water-soluble, the effect shows 3 hours after eating. Because we made it water-soluble, it will take only three hours. So when you're raising children and the little ones aren't growing well, in that case, put this in when you make side dishes and have them eat it. It works very well. So when your children doesn't grow, then when you cook, use this water-soluble calcium phosphate
12:43 in the food and then they will start growing. No, water-soluble calcium. Thank you, Joe. How much would you put in? How much should you put in? How much? You add it a little at a time, like a seasoning. The amount is just how you use your spices. So you can use very little. So, um, what is it... the daughters who were fed [water-soluble] calcium mixed with [water-soluble] calcium phosphate before they married and had babies —
13:30 they married, got pregnant, and went through it with no morning sickness. So before your daughter gets married, you mix water-soluble calcium phosphate and water-soluble calcium together and feed her with food. And then when she gets married and have a baby, she wouldn't have a morning sickness. Yeah, home run. So you hit the home run. Yes? I just want to clarify, which took a week to be absorbed and which took three days to be absorbed? So water-soluble takes only three hours. And then the not water-soluble calcium, just solid calcium,
14:19 will take only one week. Now, I'm not a doctor, so I can't speak carelessly about people, but from my experience growing crops, when you give this, lots of flower buds set. I'm not a doctor, but this is from my experience. If you give these two to your crop, they will have lots of flower buds. You will see developed tons of flower buds on your crop. So in the case of chickens — a hen has a period every day.
15:15 Because they give you egg every day, that means they're having a period every day. Yeah. But sometimes all their feathers fall out. Sometimes the chicken lose all their feathers. In human terms, that's like when a period doesn't come for a while and then it all comes at once. That case, if you compare to human beings, when they don't have a period for a long time, all of a sudden they have a huge period of time. When that happens, the hen stops laying. When that happens, the chicken wouldn't give you eggs.
16:01 That's when you give this. So when they have those symptoms, you need to give these two together. together. If you give it that way, hens that had stopped laying start laying again, and the laying period gets longer. So when you give these two together, the one that who didn't give you egg, they started to lay egg and They lay for a long time. Laying period prolonged. I'll talk about how to make the feed again later.
16:48 So I will tell you how to make feed next time. And look, these are trying to rise up in here. See? They come up through the liquid like this — can you see? The reason is, This water-soluble calcium, the eggshell is going up and down. You can see it, yeah? the eggshell is alkaline. The reason is the eggshell is alkaline. And the vinegar in here is an acid. The acid and the alkali react, so the calcium in the eggshell dissolves and becomes water-soluble calcium. And the vinegar is acid.
17:30 So there is a reaction going on so that eggshells starting to melt into the vinegar, that's why we can extract the calcium. So I made this and kept using it, and doctors from a famous university hospital in our country — 'Handong' University Hospital, as heard — came looking for me. So he used this all the time and in the very famous hospital in Korea, the hospital doctor, they came to visit me. They asked me how I made this.
18:15 So they asked him, how do we make this water cell calcium and water cell calcium phosphate? He asked how to make these inputs. There's a Korean saying: if you don't eat your own dung and urine for three years, you get jaundice — a yellow flower blooms on your face. In Korean, old people say if you don't consume your waste for three years, you will have a yellow fever disease. If you don't eat vegetables grown with your own excrement for three years, your kidneys get weak.
19:08 That means, if you don't consume the crops that grow without your waste, your kidney is kind of failing, you have a yellow fever disease, And so you get jaundice and can't get pregnant. you cannot have babies. So — my daughter, my daughter's schoolteacher had married and couldn't get pregnant. So Mr. Cho's daughter's teacher, she got married, but she couldn't have babies.
19:54 I took one look at her face — she looked like someone who couldn't conceive. So when I went to school, I looked at her face. The face is like a... Can I have a baby? So I invited that teacher to my house, So he invited the teacher to his house. and then I asked her if she wanted to have a baby. So I asked her, would you like to have a baby? Not that I meant to help in that way... she said she couldn't get pregnant. He is trying to help her, not that way.
20:46 I would like to have baby but I cannot conceive. That's what teacher said to him. So I asked whether she'd been to the hospital. So he asked her, did you go check with the doctor? She said she'd gone, and she couldn't get pregnant because her kidneys were bad. Oh, so doctor told her she has a bad kidney, that's why she couldn't have babies. So I told her: I'll give you a medicine, and if you take it you'll get pregnant. So I told her, I give you medicine, once you take that medicine you will receive the baby.
21:23 I told her I'm not a doctor, but I've raised animals and watched them, and that's how they come to conceive easily. He told her, I am not a doctor but I used to take care of lots of animals and I observed the animals and when I give this nutrient, they get pregnant very easily. So I gave her a little egg yolk oil. So I gave her a little egg yolk oil. But there's a set time to take egg yolk oil: two hours before sunset. But there is a right time to consume this egg yolk oil. That is before sun goes down, two hours before sun goes down.
22:17 And then the teacher got pregnant. So she tried it and then she got pregnant. Going to the hospital hadn't got her pregnant, but taking egg yolk oil did — so she thanked me. She was so happy that she went to doctor and couldn't get pregnant. And just taking that egg yolk oil, she got pregnant and she was so appreciated. So this egg yolk oil works very well [at drawing toxins out of the body]. So this egg yolk oil, getting rid of all the toxic in your body, is very good medicine.
23:06 Director, I have a question. If people with diabetes take it, won't it pull the poison out of their blood? They say it does — but maybe because I make it myself, I don't end up taking it much. Oh, I asked him because diabetic patients actually, they have toxic in their blood. So is it okay to take this egg yolk oil and then remove those toxic in their blood, and he said, that's what they say, but I made egg yolk oil himself, so he doesn't want to take that egg yolk oil that often.
23:53 [Unclear] You've hardly used it, haven't you? Try it, then it works. His wife said, it is good for diabetic, but he is kind of stubborn. But one thing: when you're pressing egg yolk oil, if you've had a fight with your spouse, the oil won't come out. Oh, when you are making egg yolk oil, if you have argument with the wife, the egg yolk doesn't come out. When you press the oil with a loving heart, lots of oil comes out.
24:41 So when you make this egg yolk oil, you always have lots of love in your heart, then you will have lots of egg yolk oil. These things aren't dead. They're all alive. So our inputs are all living inputs. Because they're alive. Not in words like ours, but living cells talk to each other, and I think that's why it happens. Because they are living inputs, because they communicate. So, that's why you have to always have a good thought and a loving mind when you make this
25:28 What bone is this? No — cow. The cow bone holds the [calcium] phosphate. Cow bone. The cow bone is the calcium phosphate. But because cow bone is living bone, inside it there's protein... Because the cow bone is a living bone, inside there is lots of protein and Protein — 'protein' — starch, carbohydrate, There is a lot of protein and then carbohydrates.
26:18 and there's fat in it. Also fats. So it can't react with the vinegar. Those three are in there. So when you have those three, they cannot work with the vinegar. That's why you burn it. That's why we burn the bone. What burns off is the protein, the carbohydrate and the fat. So when you burn, those protein, fat, and the carbohydrates burn out. What's left is only the calcium. So only calcium phosphate is remained after you make charcoal.
27:06 Right — calcium is alkaline. The calcium is alkaline. So it's the same as the other one. So when you put vinegar in here, it reacts with the acid like this, and the calcium in the bone all dissolves. Because vinegar is an acid, so all this water-soluble calcium phosphate is dissolved in the vinegar. So the vinegar dissolves this calcium and it becomes water-soluble calcium. So because all this water-soluble calcium phosphate is just melting into the vinegar, that's how
27:52 it became a water-soluble calcium phosphate. So when pigs won't get pregnant, won't come into heat, mix these two and shake them into their water, and they come into heat. So when your pig doesn't get pregnant, you mix these two inputs and put it in their drinking water. Then they will start having baby. But this is nutrition: it has to get into the blood, and circulation has to be good for it to be absorbed. So when you give this, add OHN with it, and the effect comes very fast. So, to absorb these inputs through their bloodstream, you need to have good circulation.
28:40 So that's why we add Oriental Herb Nutrient. So when you put Oriental Herb Nutrient and these two inputs together, it works way better. If you have questions about these three, ask. Do you have any question about these three ingredients? Logan. Logan had a question. Which one first? Oh, he's going.
