Raise Microbes, Moles Drain the Soil: Macadamias +20% a Year
Master Cho Han-kyu, interpreted by Kim Chang, Founder of Korean Natural Farming (Janong)
Spoken in Korean. Translated to English and checked line by line.
From a drawing of a plant, Cho traces the food chain under it: the leaf feeds the root, root waste feeds microbes, microbes feed earthworms, earthworms draw moles, and mole tunnels air the soil. He tells how Chris Trump's waterlogged macadamia orchard in Kohala came back that way, and how a paste of soil and Microbes (IMO4) healed trunk wounds. Then soil is the crop's mother, and Tanya leads a qigong break.
What they found
How do microbes, worms and moles fix a waterlogged orchard without cutting the trees?
Cho points at his slide of a plant with sun, leaves, roots and soil life. The Chris Trump story is told without slides. The page ends with a five-minute qigong break (about 4118–4424 s).
- Trunk wound paste (macadamia) — Cho's Korean: soil, with Microbes (IMO4), plus rice bran and glutinous (sweet) rice cooked as porridge, mixed and put on the wounds. The interpreter said 'IMO4 and rice hull, and the rice, make porridge'. No amounts given.
- Draining a waterlogged orchard — Raise the microbes in the orchard so earthworms and moles come and open the soil. No product or rate given here.
-
150,000 to 200,000 microbes live on one square centimeter of leaf
A third of them are lactic acid bacteria and yeast. The interpreter gave only 150,000.

-
The leaf makes sugar and starch from sunlight and sends it down the stem into storage
Shown on Cho's plant diagram.
▶ 58:07 From the slides
-
Crops pass waste through their roots, and it feeds the life in the soil
Microbes crowd in to eat the root waste; earthworms come to eat the microbes; moles come to eat the earthworms.

-
Mole tunnels let air into the soil, and roots love oxygen
Cho asked if Hawaiʻi has moles; the room spelled it out.

-
Chris Trump's dying macadamia orchard had standing water on its floor
Leaves dried and yellowish, chlorophyll weak. Waterlogged ground kept air from the roots. Cho told them not to cut the trees.

After that, the macadamia harvest rose 20% every year
Cho: 'What that was, was making the environment the plant grows in.'

Wounds on big trunks healed after a paste of soil, IMO4, rice bran and sweet-rice porridge
Cho: the idea came to him on the spot, from God shaping man out of soil.

-
Soil is the crop's mother, as the womb is the baby's
Restore the soil and the crop grows well.

-
Modern farming puts poison in the soil, then sprays pesticide when the crop dies
▶ 1:07:43 As spoken
- The 20% yearly rise is Cho's figure from memory; no records were shown.
- No amounts were given for the trunk paste; Cho's 'rice bran' and 'sweet rice' are our reading of unclear Korean.
- Cho likens trunk wounds to skin cancer and calls conventional food poison; these are comparisons, not tested, and we don't repeat them as advice.
- Look at drainage before cutting a failing tree: standing water keeps air from the roots.
- Feeding the soil life assists drainage; worms and moles open the ground.
- A leaf feeds the soil through its roots; keep the chain from leaf to microbe to worm intact.
- Soil with Microbes (IMO4) and a little cooked grain can be tried on trunk wounds.

Goes further
Macadamia orchard revived, yield up every year In 2018 Cho tells the same rescue as dissolving IMO4 in water and spraying it around the roots. Here his fix is drainage by raising microbes so moles come, plus a soil-IMO4 paste for trunk wounds, and a 20% yearly rise.

56:58 So this is like a crop that you can say is a papaya or mango or whatever crop you are So, look carefully at this picture here. growing. Now, this leaf has chlorophyll in it. So in a leaf there is green chlorophyll in there. And take one square centimeter of this leaf: There is only one centimeter of that leaf space. 150,000 to 200,000 of these organisms live on it. On one square centimeter.
57:44 150,000 microorganisms reside in 1 cm area of the leaf. A third of them are lactic acid bacteria and yeast. There is a one-third of it is lactic acid bacteria in the yeast. So when it meets sunlight, it makes sugar, starch. So when they receive the sunshine, they make a sweet carbohydrate. Once it has made the starch, it can't just keep it as it is. It digests it and stores it all away, down the stem, into storage.
58:31 So they want to store the carbohydrates, so they send it down to the root area and they store the carbohydrates. But it isn't only people who eat food and pass waste. Every crop passes waste too. Not only the human being has a waste, even the crops have their own waste. [Unclear: about the crop passing its waste.] Then what eats this excrement? So those wastes go out through their roots. Microbes that feed on it come crowding in.
59:17 So those wastes coming out through the roots, All kinds of microorganisms are starting to gather by the roots because it is their food. With so many microbes living there, the earthworms that live on microbes come to eat them. So around the root there are lots of microbes residing so other little creatures are starting to come and eat microorganisms also. And then moles turn up, to live on the earthworms. So when there's an earthworm, there's a little creature digging the soil.
1:00:03 That animal comes to eat the earthworm. Do we have this animal in this Hawaii? Hawaiʻi doesn't have moles, I guess? Hawaii, we do, up there. Moles. Moles? M-o-l-e. M-o-l-e. Moles. So this mole bores holes, right? So mole is making a little tunnel underneath the soil. And so air gets in. So because they make lots of tunnels, oxygen goes into the soil.
1:00:52 Then, because roots love oxygen, the roots drink in oxygen and air through the holes and grow very well. Even the roots need oxygen, so the mole opens a tunnel around the plant, so the plant starts to grow very healthy. So everything in the universe grows by God's harmony and providence, not by the technology and machinery people have developed. So nature is harmony of what God created, not created by the human being with the technology. So, you know, there was Chris Trump's macadamia farm in Kohala.
1:01:47 When I first went to the macadamia farm, the leaves were all dried out and yellowish. The chlorophyll wasn't deep. So they said they would cut them down. I told them not to. Look, here on the ground, water is standing. With water standing there, oxygen and air can't get to the roots. That's why they're drying up. So let's think of a way to drain the water. So when he came here first time in Makapala, he visited Chris Trump, who had a macadamia nut [farm] For that: if you raise up the microbes, moles come and drain the water for you. So we said, let's try it that way, and that's what they did.
1:02:30 in Kohala. And so he visited his farm. And his farm was a conventional . And his farm was a conventional farm at that time. And the leaves are drying out. And the floor of that orchard is wet. Water is holding that area. So he told him, put microorganisms so these moles and other creatures will come and then make, uh, soil drainage much faster and healthier that's what he told him to do and now That's how the macadamias came back to life. So that farm became alive and every year it increased 20% of harvest.
1:03:18 And the harvest went up 20% every year. every year. What that was, was making the environment the plant grows in. So what we did is we made the right environment to crop to grow. That's all we did. In making that environment, you consider the standpoint of whatever lives there and raise it with care. That's what doing it well means. So, because we take care of the sick trees' environment, make a healthy environment, that's
1:04:06 why they are growing. And the big trees among them had been wounded on the trunk, So some of the big trees in the middle of the trunk they had lots of scars and they started to die. In human terms, they had skin cancer. That means if we compare to human being, it has a skin cancer on the tree. So, to set that right: remember, our bodies were shaped out of soil. So I took that [soil], with IMO number 4 and...
1:04:51 and on top of that, nutrients: rice bran and glutinous (sweet) rice, as porridge, mixed that in too and put it on. And then, So what we did is, because God created us with soil, so we mixed soil with IMO4 and rice the soil turned right into flesh, and the tree just came right back to life. hull, and the rice, make porridge, and mix together, and then we put it on back to the tree where the skin disease is, and they started to heal.
1:05:38 When I went to treat it that time, I went without any idea at all. I had nothing in mind, and then suddenly, right there: how [God] shaped man from soil and breathed life into him, that Word came to me in a flash. I did it, and the tree lived. Because when he... left Chris Trump's farm, he didn't give that recipe. But after he came home, all of a sudden it hit him: God created us with the soil. And that gave him an idea, and he gave him that recipe, and the tree came out alive again. So, everyone, where do you think the crop's mother is?
1:06:28 So where is mother of a crop? Where is mother of the crops? It's soil. Yeah, that's right, it's the soil. Where is baby's mom? Ground? No. A baby's mother is the womb. Baby's mom is your mom's uterus. So to have a healthy baby, your uterus has to be healthy. Then you have a healthy So the mother's womb has to be healthy for a healthy baby to be born.
1:07:17 So when you farm, what is it you're tending? baby. So when you farm, where do you have to take care of it? That's right. So you have to restore the soil for the crop to grow well. That's why we need to heal the soil then your crops grows healthy. But what's called modern farming today puts poison into the soil. Right now, modern farming, they put poison in the soil. When the soil is dying, what happens to the crop? The crop dies too. Because the soil is dying, so your crop is dying too.
1:08:02 And then, to fix that, they spray pesticides. But then people want to heal the soil but they are still putting the chemical on the soil. So the food we eat to care for the temple, our body, is food soaked in poison. So all these food produced that way, we have to take care of our body. That food is all toxic. So we are eating the toxic food. He's going to... So we're going to have a five-minute break, but Tanya's going to teach you qigong.
1:08:47 It's really good for your body. We'll start with the neck. The first one is called the crane neck. The first one is the crane neck. And you concentrate on the chin and take your head back as far as you can. This is the forward crane neck. Going forward, down, and to the chest, up and back. Again, let's do five of them. One,
1:09:36 two, three, four, Five. Now backwards. Down to the chest. Forward. Up to the chest. Forward. Up to the chest. I think that was three, four, five. Those are the forward and backward crane necks. Now dragon head. Dragon head is a figure eight.
1:10:31 And if you had horns like this, the horns go to the left forward, back, into the center, right forward, back, into the center, left forward, back, into the center, right forward, back, and to the center. And if you stand up in place, we'll do the hip joint. Like a hula, let's go to the left five times. One, two, three, four, five.
1:11:18 Left, right. One, two, three, four, five. And forward now. One. Back. Forward. Two. Three. Four. Five. The last one is happy hands to the side. Wave it up to the universe as high as you can in your mind gather the chi there and right here is you have a opening pour that universal chi
1:12:04 into that spot bring it down into your body and all the way down to the feet do three of them up again high into the universe gather all the chi in the universe pour it into your body through the spot on your head bring down your whole body and to the feet the last one bring it up again into the universe gather all the chi from the universe that you can and pour it down into your body this time you want to stop at your dantian or the third chakra which is
1:12:55 three inches below your belly button. Then you want to spread it around in a circle. Let's do five circles. Small to big to the left. Two, three, four, five. Now Now you're in a big circle, right? Now big to small, five, down to your dantian, back again. One, two, three, four, five.
